When my grandmother was diagnosed in August, suddenly everything I had been fearing had came true; I knew of cancer, knew how much grief it caused to a person and their families, but as soon as I found out more about her situation, what was going to happen and how it would affect the future it became much more real, much more real. The more I found out, the more scared I became, proving the statement true. When I found out more, my grief and sorrow increased, because I was afraid I was going to lose her forever. This does not always apply to just diseases, however.

Student does not tell his parents about his failing grades, and they go on believe that their child is doing well, though are concerned when he does not do his homework. Report cards come home; student receives an F. Parents fear he will never go to college. Parents grieve for child's stupidity. As shown, anyone can apply this truth to anything, be boy problems to grades.

To simplify the statement, the more you know, the worse you feel, no matter how bad you felt to start with. As soon as someone finds out something they do not want to hear, it immediately becomes 'bad.'
