"The Invisible Man" by H.G. Wells is a very well written book. This book is a Science Fiction book because it contains things out of the ordinary, such as invisibility.

The story begins of a snowy February day in a little town called Bramblehurst. The stranger (invisible man) arrived at the Coach and Horses, which was the name of the inn. It was owned by Mrs. Hall. When she and all her other customers saw him all bandaged up from head to toe they didn't know what to think. Mrs. Hall just assumed that he had a terrible accident and she told everyone else to leave him alone; but after a while she began to get very suspicious as to what really happened. There were all kinds of stories going about as to what really happened; one of them got to Mr. Cuss the town doctor and he decided to go and have a look. When he got there the stranger threw him out of his room and locked the door. A couple of days later the stranger goes and steals some money so that he will be able to pay his rent at the inn. A policeman and a lot of other people run into the room to convict him and he takes off the bandages that are on his body and terrifies all the people and escapes to a nearby town. By this time he has gone completely mad and wants to kill a lot of people. As he enters the new town he is searching for help. He comes across Dr. Kemp one of his old colleagues and tells him what is happened. Mr. Kemp tries to turn him in but he escapes once again. By this time he is extremely dangerous and everyone is hunting him. His first victim was supposed to be Mr. Kemp but by some chance a man shot at where he thought the invisible man was and killed him. He became visible again after he died.

At first this story did not seem very interesting. And I really got confused when he unveiled himself in the 7th chapter. I wondered what the writer was going to say in the last 15 chapters. But the way H.G. Wells goes into detail about all the different thing that happen really caught my attention. As I was trying to figure out how to apply this to daily life I came up with that a lot of people try to change who they are just to get different things. Whether it's respect from others or money. But what I learned was that if you change who you are your only hurting yourself. In this case he got killed because of it.
